The   Samsung Group   (or simply   Samsung , stylized in logo as   SΛMSUNG )  is a South Korean  multinational   manufacturing  conglomerate   headquartered in  Samsung Town ,  Seoul , South Korea.   It comprises numerous affiliated businesses,   most of them united under the   Samsung   brand, and is the largest South Korean   chaebol   (business conglomerate). As of 2020,   Samsung has the 8th highest global  brand value . Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-chul in 1938 as a trading company. Over the next three decades, the group diversified into areas including food processing, textiles, insurance, securities, and retail. Blockchain Games

Image
A   blockchain game   is a  video game   that includes elements that use cryptography-based  blockchain   technologies. Blockchain elements in these games are most often based on the use of  cryptocurrency   or  non-fungible tokens   (NFTs) which players can buy, sell, or trade with other players. While blockchain games have been available since 2017, blockchain games have only gathered the attention of the video game  industry  in 2021, with several  AAA publishers   have expressed strong intent to explore their potential, as well as criticism from players, developers, and companies within the game industry. Blockchain technology, such as cryptocurrencies and NFTs, are seen as additional monetization routes for video games. Many live-services game offer in-game customization options, such as character skins or other in-game items, which the players can earn and trade with other players using in-game currency. Some games also allow for trading of virtual items using real-world curren

Visual Effect

Image
Visual effects   ( VFX ) is the process by which imagery is created or manipulated outside the context of a live-action shot in  filmmaking   and  video production . The integration of live action footage and other live action footage or CGI elements to create realistic imagery is called VFX. VFX involves the integration of live-action footage (which may include in-camera special effects) and generated-imagery (digital or optics, animals or creatures) which look realistic, but would be dangerous, expensive, impractical, time-consuming or impossible to capture on film. Visual effects using computer generated imagery (CGI) have more recently become accessible to the independent filmmaker with the introduction of affordable and relatively easy-to-use animation and compositing software. Early Developments In  1857,  Oscar Rejlander created the world's first "special effects" image by combining different sections of 32 negatives into a single image, making a Montaged combina

Technology

Image
The use of the term "technology" has changed significantly over the last 200 years. Before the 20th century, the term was uncommon in English, and it was used either to refer to the description or study of the  useful arts   or to allude to technical education, as in the  Massachusetts Institute of Technology  chartered in 1861. The term "technology" rose to prominence in the 20th century in connection with the Second Industrial Revolution. The term's meanings changed in the early 20th century when American social scientists, beginning with Thorstein   Veblen, translated ideas from the German concept of Technik into "technology." In German and other European languages, a distinction exists between  Technik  and t echnologie  that is absent in English, which usually translates both terms as "technology." By the 1930s, "technology" referred not only to the study of the industrial arts but to the industrial arts themselves. In 1937, th

Teleportation

Image
Teleportation   is the hypothetical transfer of  matter   or  energy   from one point to another without traversing the physical space between them. It is a common subject in science fiction  litrature   and in other popular culture. Teleportation is often paired with  time travel , being that the travelling between the two points takes an unknown period of time, sometimes being immediate. There is no known physical mechanism that would allow for teleportation. Frequently appearing scientific paper and media articles with the term  teleportation  typically report on so-called "quantum teleportation", a scheme for information transfer which, due to the no-communication theorem, still would not allow faster-than-light communication. The use of the term  teleport  to describe the hypothetical  of material objects between one place and another without physically traversing the distance between them has been documented as early as 1878. American writer is credited with having co

Data Science

Image
Data science   is an  interdisciplinary   field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract  knowledge   and insights from noisy, structured and  unstructured data ,   and apply knowledge and actionable insights from data across a broad range of application domains. Data science is related to  Data mining, Machine learning and Big Data. Data science is a "concept to unify statistics, data analysis, informatics, and their related methods" in order to "understand and analyze actual phenomena" with data. It uses techniques and theories drawn from many fields within the context of mathematics, statistics, Computer Science, information Science, and domain   knowledge. However, data science is different from computer science and information science. Turning   Award winner Jim Gray imagined data science as a "fourth paradigm" of science and asserted that "everything about science is changing because of the impact of informati

Metaverse

Image
The metaverse is a hypothesized iteration of the Internet, supporting persistent online 3D virtual environments through conventional personal computing, as well as virtual and augmented reality headsets. Metaverses, in some limited form, have already been implemented in video games such as Second Life. Some iterations of the metaverse involve integration between virtual and physical spaces and virtual economies. Current metaverse development is centered on addressing the technological limitations with virtual and augmented reality devices. The term "metaverse" has been used as a buzzword for promotion, and as a way to generate hype for public relations purposes by making vague claims for future projects. Information privacy and user addiction are concerns within the metaverse, stemming from current challenges facing the social media and video game industries as a whole.
